It is important to note, to be eligible for claiming super as a tax deduction for 2023, the June super payment must be received by the super fund on or before 30 June 2023.

The Small Business Super Clearing house (SBSCH) will be unavailable from 24 to 25 June 2023, due to scheduled maintenance.

If you or your clients want to claim a tax deduction for super payments made before 30 June, you need to adjust your payment plans by making payments before the outage takes place. If the super payment is made after this date, you may not be able to claim a deduction for the financial year ending 30 June 2023.

Paying ahead of the outage will also ensure that you and your clients’ employees are not disadvantaged by payments reaching their super funds after 30 June.

Xero recommends clients using their payroll system submit and approve Auto Super batches by the 14 June 2023, if they relate to tax deductions for this financial year. This should allow for contributions to reach superannuation accounts no later than 30 June 2023.
