If so please note the SBSCH will CEASE to operate from 19th February 2018 and will be merged with the ATO Business Portal from 26th February 2018.

So what are your options now?

1. Use the new SBSCH

Accessing the new SBSCH through the ATO Business Portal will require you to setup an AUSkey or gain access through myGov and the following links will take you through the process:



2. Consider an alternative to the SBSCH

For those using Xero or MYOB, you have an alternative (and it’s an easier one!)

Xero – has an Automatic Superannuation service available (to all subscribers except Starter/Standard with 1 employee). There is no additional cost to use this system.

We recommend you ensure your employee payroll in Xero is set up correctly with no missing information to enable this function to be used properly. MYOB - offer a similar service called Pay Super which is available to MYOB Essentials, AccountRight Plus and Premier customers at no additional cost. You will need to ensure that your employee payroll is setup correctly with no missing information. Super Paid through an Employer Nominated Fund – this will not be affected by these changes however if you are using an accounting system that has its own clearing house we recommend simplifying your processes and using the full functionality of your system.

More Changes Ahead:

There can be little doubt that Government focus in the areas of superannuation and payroll is increasing. Prior to July this year, there will be additional (and mandatory) ATO reporting obligations focusing on your payroll information. As a business owner, you will need to ensure your accounting system supports these additional Government reporting requirements or you may face wasted time, costs and potential penalties for non-compliance.
